DEAR MUMS, ITS OK TO LIVE FOR YOU

Written by Amarachi Ogbonnaya

Raising a family is no joke and like the adage says, "It takes a village to raise a child," then you see mums taking risks and doing whatever it takes to raise more than one child. If that isn't bravery, I don't know what is.
Shout out to all the mommas reading this, y'all are the real MVPs. That isn't the reason for this post though, the real reason for this post is to encourage mothers that it is ok to live for themselves.

While raising a family, most forget themselves in the process, they stop doing what they like and get emersed in school runs, training children and keeping a family, funny enough the fathers are most times let off in these scenarios, but mom, its ok to live your life outside of your children; take that vacation you've always wanted to go where you can have your, "Me time," go out with the girls (your friends) without the kids, read those books you've always wanted to read, travel the world like you planned because in the long run, you realize that life is too short to ignore yourself.

Now, before anyone comes for me and ask who will take care of the kids when she is doing all of these? That's why marriage is called a partnership, it's two people helping each other out when needed, ok, let's paint this scenerio; something happenes and mummy dies, who takes over these duties? Exactly, life goes on, they forge ahead, get the hang of life, that's life, the more reason we need to live while alive, these memories are what stays with us forever.

In a nutshell, it doesn't mean you don't love your kids, it just means you are human too.
