IN THE SPIRIT OF THE YULETIDE

Growing up was interesting for me as a child; I was young, cared less about the troubles in the world and always on time for everything Christmas, from making my Christmas hair, to buying Christmas clothes and shoes, I didn't care how my parents got the money, as long as I got to enjoy it, I was good.

By this time so many years ago, I was already showing everyone my new hair and earnestly looking forward to Christmas day to show off my new clothes and shoes and "Eye glass." It was fun, but now that I am working for my money, I know how hard it is to get money, I don't fancy all those things, to even make new hair is like I am competing with kids for the attention of the saloonist or is it getting new clothes? I feel if I haven't gotten them earlier, then I don't need them, have y'all been to Ikeja under bridge this week? the crowd is something else and you will just feel like running to a cave to lie low until the season pass.

According to Christians, December, 25th heralds the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the savior of mankind, although it is debatable as the Jewish calendar was way different from this current one we are using, but this is not the point here.

Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and to reflect on his life on earth and to also give to those who don't have, it is generally a spiritual exercise, as well as physical, but trust Nigerians to focus on the physical part.

While growing up, we would share our food with neighbors and all those around us, thse that had and those that didn't have, but now, how many people still give?

If you even give to your neighbor, they would low key throw it away, as receiving from someone now is viewed with suspicion because of the condition of the society.

Let me ask you, have you bought your Christmas cloth? 😀😀😀😀. Wishing y'all a splendid Christmas and a smooth new year, from your favorite blogger and hope you achieved your goals in 2018 and already drafting new ones for 2019?

Ciao.
