The "I Just Got Back" are our brothers and sisters in the abroad who come back during Christmas and start disturbing us with supri supri and yo.
On Saturday I went for an event on the island and while waiting for my uber to arrive, I decided to chill at the hotel lobby, (I couldn't go back into the hall of the event because they were lined up collecting food, buffet style and I didn't stand a chance of getting mine before the uber arrives, sigh) when this fineeee brother (notice the multiple e right?) Walked up to sit beside me, fine man decided to start a conversation:
Fine man: Yo,my name is Donald, but my friends call me D. (In a language my mind was arguing was somewhere between Amelican English and maybe Kenyan English, that's when I stopped admirnfadmiring him)
Me: (uninterested) OK.
Fine man: I just got back from the states yo.
Me: Welcome our state brother
Fine man: I can see you're funny. I like funny women. Anyway, I will be here (Intercontinental hotel) till January before I travel back to the states yo.
Me: (in my mind, united streets of Aba you mean). OK
Fine man: I like you to come spend it with me yo.
At this point, Mr. Uber had arrived and was calling me.
Me: I'm sure you stay in China or Kenya, not states yo, because our brothers in the US don't speak Americana laik that.
With that, I walked away.
All our yo speaking brethren that are around, you berra respeck yourselves, naija guys, hold ya babes well o, Malaysian guys are arand.
This week has been full of them went for a wedding yesterday and one hanty said, "Oh wassap Lagos, I'm back with a bang!!!" I just turned my face one corner and laughed out loud, another chick said, "If it was in Dallas now, imma be on winter coat, but its damn hat (supri supri again), but I loveet, imma get tanned before I go back."
